Last of the big spenders
When most businesses are tightening their belts, Gordon is spending his way out of recession. So how can you get your fair share of the action?.
In recognition of their huge role in the UK economy Alistair Darling has proposed that Government Departments ensure 30% (or around £56 billion) of their expenditure goes to small and medium sized businesses. But how does your business get a piece of the action?
Well, if you already have at least one public sector customer who can give you a positive reference, www.buyersguide.co.uk might be of help. Buyers Guide Limited has been operating since 1996 and puts businesses in touch with Government department buyers both locally and nationally, including schools, emergency services and councils. The company claims their online service is used by over 10,000 Government organisations a year.
You can still register even without public sector experience, as long as your business meets some basic requirements, and with the Olympics approaching fast there are plenty of contracts up for grabs.
It is a paid for service, and we’d love to hear feedback if you’re already a user so we can pass it on in future editions of Cashflow Update. If you have a comment, or would like to suggest any future articles, please email update@cashflowuk.com
